Sparks fail to fly on Sophie’s big date

IT wasn’t a true love match when Sophie Williams from Oundle went on a date on ITV show Take Me Out.

After nine weeks on the show the 20-year-old University of Hull business student was picked for a date by Liverpudlian cash machine engineer Michael.

Viewers saw how the pair got on on their date in the Isle of Fernandos on Saturday night’s show.

The date got off to a good start and the pair seemed to be getting on well as they took part in a belly dancing lesson.

Sophie said: “I didn’t mind wearing the belly dancing outfit, it was quite flattering, but I didn’t think I would be half naked on a first date.”

But when the pair then met up for drinks the cracks began to show.

While they each thought the other had dressed up nicely, conversation quickly dried up.

Sophie said: “The conversation did go dry at times, it was a bit awkward.”

Michael said he was looking for a girl he could “have a bit of banter with”.

Sophie was also concerned about the age difference between herself and 30-year-old Michael.

She said: “Sadly there was no romance between Michael and myself and I don’t really see us meeting up in the future.”
