A DOCTORS’ surgery has applied to be allowed to install solar panels on its roof.

Lakeside Surgery in Cottingham Road, Corby, has asked Corby Council planning officers to consider an application to place 134 solar photovoltaic panels to the south east and south west-facing roofs.

Placing solar panels on public buildings has become popular in recent years as energy can be either used to reduce bills or sold back to the National Grid to make money.

The application, submitted jointly by NHS Northamptonshire and Lakeside Surgery, is expected to be dealt with by planning officers under delegated powers.
