Old traditions were kept alive at Corby’s Highland Gathering – including the one about British summers and rain!
More than 120 Highland dancers and nine pipe bands took part in the town’s annual celebration on Sunday.
The popular event returned to Charter Field in Corby Old Village where bands including Grampian (Corby), RAF Waddington & Halton, Standard Triumph, Birmingham Irish and Scots Guards Association (South) competed.
There was also Highland dancing, Stevens Funfair, side stalls, haggis burgers and representatives from new restaurant RBW.
There was also live music in the Cardigan Arms, Ex-Service Men’s Club, Village Inn and White Hart.
Chieftan for the day was Jimmy Noble, who was a councillor for more than a quarter of a century until he stood down in May.
