The director of this year’s Christmas pantomime in Wellingborough is promising the show is unmissable.
Daniel Winder is bringing a musical version of Sleeping Beauty to the town this Christmas and wants everybody to come along.
Mr Winder said: “Our Sleeping Beauty will be an exciting new take on the classic fairytale, with an extra funky modern twist.
“With a brand new score full of fun disco-inspired songs and a supremely talented cast this will be a family show not to be missed.
“So get on your dancing gear and come to the Castle as you are all invited along to our Christmas party.”
The show will be held at the Castle theatre in Wellingborough between Monday, December 10, and Saturday, December 29, and a battle of good versus evil will be played out on stage, as Isis the good fairy takes on Fireina the bad fairy.
One of the stars of the pantomime will be Laura Wickham, who is playing the role of this year’s Sleeping Beauty, Princess Rosie.
The actress has graced the stage in many family productions, including playing the parts of Princess So Shy in Aladdin and Mole in The Wind in The Willows.
Paul Boyd, writer of former Christmas show Alice the Musical, has written this year’s show and The Castle said it is excited to work with him.
A theatre spokesman said: “We’re really excited to be working with writer Paul Boyd again for this year’s Christmas show, and it promises to be a larger than life, hilariously funny musical that the whole family will love!
