A Kettering skatepark which opened 11 years ago is to have a grand re-opening after it underwent a £148,000 revamp.
Kettering Skatepark opened in April 2002 but in 2012 a new group called &Friends began working in partnership with Kettering Council to redevelop the site.
The group was able to secure funding, including a £75,000 grant from the Wren Landfill Communities Fund.
They also got the views of users, parents and residents living near the Grantown Close facility before starting work.
A fun day is being held on Saturday, June 15, between 11am and 6pm which will feature music and skateboarding and BMX displays.
