“The rain will turn increasingly to snow on Thursday, with the possibility of some significant and disruptive snow for a time during the morning.”

The Met Office issued a weather warning of snow and ice for Northamptonshire on Sunday through to Monday morning.

Drivers were warned to be extra careful as many of the county’s roads contained patches of frost and ice.
