In his latest weather forecast, Mike Lewis, station manager at Pitsford Hall, has predicted that temperatures will fall as low as -3C during the weekend and snow could arrive on Monday.

Mr Lewis said: “It will be a very cold and slippery start to the day tomorrow (Friday) with icy stretches fairly widespread across the county requiring some caution especially on minor roads.”

Mr Lewis said: “In fact, we could see some significant accumulation of snow for the rush hour on Monday morning.”
