Siblings will go walking to help Chelsea

TWO Wellingborough youngsters are the latest participants to sign up for this year’s Waendel Walk.

Kymberley, 11, and Alexander Ellson, eight, will take part in the event to raise money for Chelsea’s Angels, which raises funds for children with rare forms of cancer and their families.

They took part last year and raised £200. They hope to match that total this year. People can sponsor them by going to www.charitygiving.co.uk/alexandkymberley.

The event organised by Wellingborough Council will begin on Friday with two friendship walks of 5km and 10km, followed by a weekend of different routes ranging from 5km up to a marathon-distance 42km.

More than 6,500 people are expected to take part in this year’s event, including visitors from all over the world.

People from Holland, Germany, Ireland, Israel, Sweden, the Czech Republic and Australia have already signed up.
