Shoppers queue to get first look around new store at Rushden Lakes

Jamie Ramsay helped with the ribbon cutting for the outdoor clothing and equipment retailer which opened its doors to customers on Saturday (September 15).

He spoke to people in the queue and shared his experiences including how he became an adventure athlete, details of his adventures and his favourite kit.

People were then invited to join him for a 5K run around Rushden Lakes.

Speaking ahead of Saturday’s official opening, Elaine Wrigley, retail director for Outdoor & Cycle Concepts Ltd, said: “We are delighted to be opening a store at Rushden Lakes.

“Customers can look forward to expert service and the very best selection of outdoor clothing and equipment alongside our extensive range of run footwear and clothing.

“We’re so excited to have a store right at the heart of the Nene Wetlands, with the Wildlife Trust and Canoe2 on the lakes giving customers the chance to explore as well as shop.”

Cotswold Outdoor has opened in the new terrace of shops at Rushden Lakes alongisde Hobbycraft, AJ Cycles and Decathlon which all opened recently.

Wren Kitchen is also due to open in this terrace soon.
