Shoppers get chance to meet Corby race circuit team

Visitors to Corby’s main shopping area will have the chance to check out what is on offer at their local motor racing circuit on Friday (August 29) when the Rockingham team is in the town centre.

The Corby circuit has teamed up with Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship team, WIX Racing, to promote next weekend’s (September 6/7) visit of the UK’s premier racing series and music event.

Shoppers will have the opportunity to check out the new Mercedes A Class WIX Racing road car, which is a replica of the current model raced by Adam Morgan in this season’s British Touring Car Championship.

The car will be parked up in Corporation Street near to George Street, between 9am and 5pm, along with a real NASCAR from the Rusty Wallace Race Experience, which holds retail drives and ride experiences at Rockingham, and Feathers Motorsport’s Radical SR1 race car.

Members of the public will also have the opportunity to find out more information on the new R3Rockingham driver training courses which aim to reduce the risks associated with driving with its hands-on-training programmes using the circuit’s unique wet grip facility

Rockingham chief executive Peter Hardman, said: “We’re very passionate about making motorsport accessible to fans and Rockingham prides itself on providing a great entertaining day out for all the family. This is an ideal opportunity for the local community to see what an excellent facility they have on their doorstep.”
