Seven people arrested after a raid on a travellers’ site in Rothwell have been released on bail.

Police carried out the raid, in Harrington Road, early on Wednesday morning (March 19).

The seven arrested were three women, aged 35, 39 and 59, three men, aged 35, 36 and 64, and a teenager. They have been released on bail pending further enquiries.

A spokesman for Northamptonshire Police confirmed that a quantity of what they believe to be class A drugs, cash and a firearm were seized in the raid.

On Wednesday, Superintendent Andy Cox, who led the operation, said: “This was a very successful operation which demonstrates our commitment to tackling drug-related activities and keeping the people of Northamptonshire safe.”
