An intrepid fundraiser, who is bidding to row across the Atlantic to raise funds for Diabetes UK, visited a Wellingborough school to talk about his high seas adventure.
Scott Etherington, 33, visited Sir Christopher Hatton Academy, in The Pyghtle, on Friday, to give a talk about his expedition.
Mr Etherington took his boat to the school so pupils could have a look. The school also held a mufti day to help raise funds for the charity.
Mr Etherington, who is originally from Raunds but now lives in Hertford, will take part in the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge, which begins on December 2.
Participants in the challenge aim to travel from La Gomera in the Canary Islands to Antigua in the Caribbean – a 3,600 mile journey.
Mr Etherington will be joined on the voyage by his rowing partner Viktor Mattsson. The duo can be sponsored by visiting the website www.justgiving.com/atlanticinspiration.
