School gets silver for its sporting endeavour

Manor School Sports College in Raunds has won an award for its commitment to school sport.

The school has been awarded the Sainsbury’s School Games Silver Mark for 2013-14, which rewards schools for their commitment to, and development of, competition, school sport and physical education. The mark was created by the Department of Culture, Media and Sport and launched in June 2012.

School sport manager Hannah Hore said: “Manor School continues to provide excellent opportunities for students across physical education and school sport all year round.

“This academic year I will be working with the PE department to develop additional opportunities including inclusive sport formats for the School Games, both intra-school and at district level.

“Our aim is to achieve the Gold School Games Mark for 2014-15.”
