Pupils at a Rushden school got into the Red Nose Day spirit as they arrived for the grand opening of their new library, dressed as their favourite characters from literature.

The book-themed mufti day raised money for Red Nose Day and was part of a series of celebratory events to mark the opening of a new fun-filled library at South End Junior School, on Wymington Road, Rushden.

Children enjoyed a sing-a-long and a variety of performances from pupils before Rushden Mayor Marian Hollomon officially opened the library.
