Santa was joined by a robot and larger than life puppets as part of the entertainment for Rushden’s annual Christmas lights switch-on.

Rushden began its festivities in High Street on Saturday, November 26.

Titan the loveable robot, who has travelled to more than 30 countries, was back again this year with his comedy antics for all the family.

As well as his three shows during the day, there was music including local DJ Nathan, the Victory Doll singer and a school choir from South End School.

Melodies Theatre Academy and the local Zumba dance class also performed.

Churches from the area displayed their larger than life Nativity puppets, which were accompanied by the Salvation Army Band.

Santa arrived on his sleigh, pulled by live reindeer, which were available all afternoon for youngsters to go along and see.

Street organs and other music played throughout the day, with face painting and balloon modelling also on offer as well as fairground rides.

Rushden Mayor Tracey Smith switched on the lights.
