Rushden Academy visit by author Nick a horrible success

Horrible Science author Nick Arnold visited Rushden Academy to talk to Year 7 and 8 students about his life and about what inspired him to write books about science.

Nick spoke about his school days and former jobs and how they influenced his decision to become a science writer.

Celebrating 20 years as a published author- his first two books Ugly Bugs and Blood and Bones and Body Bits were written in 1996- he wanted his talk to encourage pupils to read and write stories.

Nick stayed in the school library nearly an hour after the talk, signing books and answering students’ questions, he said: “I had a wonderful time at Rushden Academy, meeting librarians, teachers and students.

“Hopefully I inspired quite few young writers and scientists but my message is supportyour school library.”
