A gang armed with crowbars has targeted almost 30 pubs and shops across the borough of Corby in the past four weeks.

After smashing their way into pubs they’ve stolen money from cash machines and two near-identical incidents have been reported to police in the borough of Kettering.

The first incident took place at The Olde Victoria in Bakehouse Lane, Burton Latimer, shortly after 5am on Saturday, October 6.

Burglars broke in through the front window, dragged the fruit machine to the fire exit and smashed it before stealing money.

Another incident took place at Rowell Charter Inn in Sun Hill, Rothwell, at about 3.30am on Sunday, October 7.

Again, the front window of the pub was smashed, damage was caused to the fruit machine and cash was stolen.

A crowbar was left at the scene.

Police have not ruled out a connection to raids in Corby, which we first reported last week.

Witnesses to any of the incidents should contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
