Rotarians quick off the mark with donation

FACILITIES at the Well Café in Wellingborough have been improved thanks to a donation of a state-of-the-art commercial grade microwave.

The cafe in Nest Farm Crescent is run by the Hope Project, which also runs the Hemmingwell Skills Centre.

Wellingborough Rotary Club donated the microwave as part of its ongoing support of the Hope Project.

In the past, the group has worked with the Wellingborough Hatton Rotary Club to donate a dishwasher to the café.

Bob Lymn, president of the Rotary Club of Wellingborough, said: “The idea of giving a microwave is that the café can generate money for the Hope Project.

“When the café had a hygiene inspection recently it passed everything with flying colours, but staff were told they needed an up-to-date commercial microwave.”

Mr Lymn was keen to say thank you to Bob Clifford of Marren Microwaves in Wollaston for letting the group buy the kitchen equipment for a special half price offer.

He also wanted to thank members of the Wellingborough Chamber of Commerce for donating money towards the cost of the microwave.
