Robber strikes in Rushden

POLICE officers are appealing for witnesses following a robbery in Rushden yesterday.

The incident took place between 7.45am and 8am at the Washbrook Road underpass.

A 36 year-old woman was walking along the cycle path between the Asda supermarket in Higham Road and Crown Way.

When the victim reached the underpass of Washbrook Road she was approached by a man who demanded she hand over all her property.

The victim handed over items, including her mobile phone, purse and tobacco. The offender also grabbed the victim’s arms during the incident.

The offender was a white man, aged between 20 to 25, about 5ft 7ins and of slim build. He had short brown hair and was wearing a silvery grey zipped jacket.
