Roadshows will help Corby women stay safe

A series of roadshows are being organised by the police in Corby, aimed at helping women and teenage girls in the town stay safe.

Officers from Corby Safer Community Team are inviting women and girls over the age of 15 to take part in the events.

PCSO Anita Hambly will be presenting the roadshow at the Pen Green Centre and PCSOs Helen Murray and Julie Anderson will be at the other venues in the town.

PCSO Anderson said: “Women who have attended these sessions say they have found them to be very informative and useful. These events provide information of the various groups and confidential services that are available to help with a wide range of issues and the effective measures to help protect women from harm.

“The roadshow will provide people with very worthwhile information, and will also offer a great opportunity to meet and speak to PCSOs and raise issues or concerns that the police can assist with.”

The roadshows are being held at Pen Green Centre on Tuesday, November 20, from 6.30pm to 8pm; Corby Old Village Community Centre, High Street, on Wednesday, December 5, from 5.30pm until 7.30pm; Kingswood Community Centre on Thursday, December 6, from 6pm until 8pm and at Beanfield Community Centre on Tuesday, December 11, from 5.30pm until 7pm.
