Children hoping for snow look set to be disappointed according to the latest weather forecast.

Having woken up to a hard frost this morning (Tuesday, January 20), clouds are forecast to roll in later in the day, with temperatures struggling to reach more than 2C, say forecasters at Pitsford Weather Station.

There could be some flurries of light snow this evening before a band of sleet and rain moves in overnight. The night-time temperature will fall to 0C.

Forecasters now expect rain instead of snow on Wednesday, with temperatures being similar to today’s. The rain is expected to turn heavier on Wednesday night and may have some sleet mixed in.

Thursday is expected to be a dry but cold day with sunny intervals.
