Lots has changed in Kettering in the past 30 years – but not everything.
These pictures, provided to us by former Telegraph chief photographer Glyn Dobbs, show Kettering town centre in the late 1970s and early 1980s, as well as today.
One or two stores still survive, such as Boots, Marks & Spencer and the jewellers Leslie Smart and Sons, but most are no longer with us – we all remember Woolworth’s, but what about Able Jack the DIY store, or Radio Rentals?
The photos also show the construction of the Wadcroft buildings, home now to the British Heart Foundation shop among others.
If you have any old pictures of the town where you live, you can email them to us and we’ll put them on the website.
