Remembering fallen soldiers

Two more local servicemen are being remembered in Corby this coming week as part of Corby Council’s commitment to individually commemorate the deaths of each of the First World War soldiers and sailors from the borough who lost their lives serving their country in the Great War.

A commemorative flag will fly in James Ashworth VC Square on Saturday, the 100th anniversary of the death of Private Cecil Charles Fowler of Stanion and on Tuesday, which is the 100th anniversary of the death of Sergeant George Henry Bradshaw of Corby/Rockingham.

They were both killed in action.

Information on each of the local soldiers will be presented on the Cube Helpdesk, will be shared through Twitter, @CorbyBC and on Corby Council’s website at as part of the commemorations on the relevant day.
