Cosmetics firm Avon has made 70 redundancies at its sites in Corby and Northampton in a move to save costs.
The announcement is the latest in a series of job losses to hit Corby, after significant staff reductions at both Tata Steel and Fairline Boats earlier this year.
An Avon spokesman said: “Avon is taking another important step in our plans to transform our global business, improve our competitiveness and invest in growth.
“Following the sale of our North American business, we have taken the opportunity to rethink our operating model to drive efficiencies, improve operational effectiveness and deliver significant cost savings.
“These changes do involve the elimination of 2,500 positions worldwide, including 70 in the UK spread across the Northampton and Corby sites.”
