This week is London Cocktail Week and at the forefront of the activities and events is Northamptonshire’s Warner Edwards Distillery.

The Harrington-based craft distillery, founded by Tom Warner and Sion Edwards, is making its mark on the drinks industry, having already won two global awards for its gin.

The distilling duo will be talking about their gin at London Cocktail Week and they have also extended their Great British Sloe Swap with an Open Day at the distillery, taking place this Saturday (October 12).

The swap, in which people can swap sloes for gin and mementoes, is continuing and people can still visit West Lodge Rural Centre in Desborough to pick sloes to donate to the swap. For more info, see

At London Cocktail Week, Tom and Sion are showcasing The Warner Edwards Gentle Flame, a cocktail using Warner Edwards Dry Gin, charred and muddled yellow cherry tomatoes, St Germain elderflower and lemon juice and a touch of salt, shaken and strained.

The pair also took part in a recent tasting event at London’s Fortnum & Mason where their cocktail on the night was a Clover Club cocktail. Sion and Tom have kindly decided to share this recipe with readers.

Clover Club Cocktail


50ml Warner Edwards Harrington Dry Gin

20ml Lemon juice

20ml Sugar syrup (2 parts water to 1 sugar, heat water, dissolve sugar)

1 Egg white

5 Fresh raspberries


Put all ingredients into cocktail shaker and shake for one minute with no ice (dry shake). Then add a couple of handfuls of ice to shaker and shake again (wet shake) for roughly 20 seconds or until the drink feels cold.

Pour into cocktail glass and imbibe.

You can turn this into a Clover Leaf cocktail if you add a mint leaf to garnish.
