Raunds Town Football Club has got the ball rolling for the new season thanks to a sponsorship deal with Taylor Wimpey East Midlands.
The leading local housebuilder, which is preparing to build a new development of high-quality homes in the town, has donated £500 to the club to fund new training shirts for its two teams.
Their sponsorship has purchased over 40 new black and red T-shirts for the first and reserve teams, which are adorned with the Taylor Wimpey logo.
Team manager James Le Masurier, who approached Taylor Wimpey for help said: “I’ve been managing the team for the past three seasons, and we have a great squad who are really loyal. “It’s great to be able to give something back to them for their hard work.
“For all clubs to work at this level and enhance professionalism we need to work closely with local businesses.
“It’s important to look the part as manager and players but also to enhance our facilities and keep the pitch well maintained, and without the help of businesses such as Taylor Wimpey we couldn’t perform as well as we do.”
James added: “The shirts will be worn by our players at every training session and warm-up, so the kit will be very well-used.
“We are very grateful to Taylor Wimpey, as it enables us to give something back to our players, some of whom have been at the club for many seasons.”
