Raunds mayor to continue in role for a second year

A mayor will be supporting a life-saving charity during her second year in the role.

Cllr Helen Howell was elected as mayor of Raunds for the 2015/2016 civic year and has just been re-elected as the town’s mayor for 2016/17.

She will have Cllr Nick Beck serving as deputy mayor.

Cllr Howell said: “I’m honoured to have been re-elected as mayor of Raunds, I will continue to do my best to represent the town and build on the success of the mayor’s show and other events where I raised over £4,000 for The Fire Fighters Charity.

“This year I will be supporting the air ambulance as well as local organisations.

“We are looking forward to celebrating Her Majesty the Queen’s 90th birthday with a town picnic on June 11.”
