Rally to country show

Northamptonshire Young Farmers will be holding their Country Show and Rally on Saturday May 23 at Stowe Lodge, Upper Stowe.

The event brings together the 250 members of the five county Young Farmers Clubs based in Oundle, Thrapston, Kelmarsh, Grendon and Towcester.

Members will meet from 9am until 5pm for a day of competition and rivalry in wide range of activities including flower arranging, tractor handling, tug of war, soap carving, sheep shearing, cookery and drill calibration.

Rally Chairman Joe Brodie said “We are looking forward to a fun filled day of competitions against our rival clubs.”

Members of the public are very welcome to join us for a day at the farm to see what we get up and watch some hilarious competitions.”

The show will also include a display from a local vintage tractor club and a hound display from the Pytchley Hunt.

Winners of the various competions will go forward to represent the county at a regional level.

Entry is £5 per person.
