A VILLAGE has taken action to put the brakes on speeding drivers.
The parish council bought and put up a temporary vehicle activated sign to encourage drivers to slow down after residents in Weldon voiced concerns over speeding.
The sign records the speed of all vehicles which pass on both sides of the road and flashes the speed of every vehicle travelling above the speed limit.
Corby Council’s neighbourhood management team is managing the positioning and maintenance of the device.
Corby Council leader Cllr Tom Beattie, said: “The sign not only gives us a good insight into speeding issues in the area, but also makes drivers aware of their speed. The device has proved very successful in other areas of the borough.”
