Pupils win awards after they show a real flair for business

Students at Corby Business Academy won two awards after impressing judges with their flair for business.

Young Enterprise company at the school, Kraftees, manned stalls at Young Enterprise fairs in the Swansgate Centre, Wellingborough, and in the Grosvenor Centre, Northampton, this month.

Pupils sold their Christmas cards and USB sticks on wristbands, competing with other Young Enterprise teams from around the county. In Wellingborough, Kraftees received the award for best sales and marketing strategy and at the fair in Northampton the team took the title for the best trade stand.

Young Enterprise link teacher Alexandra Allan said: “The judges were extremely impressed and the feedback was amazing.”

Shaun Coleman, from RS Components, Corby, which has been supporting Kraftees, said: “At the trade fair in Wellingborough they were professional and were all good ambassadors for Corby Business Academy.

“They interacted with the other students well, which was really good. The pupils did well winning the best sales and marketing strategy award as this is a key area in business.”
