Pupils are linking up with a community association to help keep their neighbourhood looking at its best.
Children at Oakley Vale Primary School, Corby, are working alongside the community association to ensure residents use bins to dispose of litter.
School headteacher Michael Deane-Hall said: “We value the link with the community association and the chance to work with them. It’s important that our pupils take an active role in the community and learn to be responsible citizens.”
Oakley Vale Community Association has also presented the school with a cheque for £300.
The money will be used to provide an outside power supply at the school to enable youngsters to work on their allotment plots.
Mr Deane-Hall said: “We are very grateful for the support.”
