Prof Green to appear at club

RAPPER Professor Green has been signed up to appear at a nightclub in the north of the county.

The Professor, real name Stephen Manderson, will be at Rockafellas in Princewood Court, Corby, from 10pm until 6am on Sunday, June 3.

Earlier this month Joey Essex from the hit reality TV show The Only Way is Essex paid a visit to the club to the delight of fans.

Now tickets for the Professor Green gig have gone on sale, costing £10.

Lee Ruthven, 24, of Sargent Road, Corby, said: “It’s brilliant that he’s coming to Corby but unfortunately I’m going to be away that weekend, otherwise I would definitely be going to see him. He’s the UK’s answer to Eminem.”

Debbie Cooper, 20, of Ripley Walk, Corby, said: “I really like his music but I won’t be able to go and see him that night.

“Rockafellas are doing great in getting celebrities to come to Corby. Joey Essex was here a few weeks ago. It’s good for the town to have such big stars coming here.”

Professor Green has been in the national news recently because of his relationship with Made in Chelsea star Millie Mackintosh.

The 28-year-old rapper from Hackney worked with Lily Allen on her 2009 concert tour.

He released his debut album, Alive Till I’m Dead, in July 2010, featuring guest vocals from Lily Allen, Emeli Sandé, Fink, Labrinth and Example, as well as The Streets. He brought his latest tour to a close at the O2 Brixton Academy where he performed hits from his two albums including City Of Gold, Just Be Good To Green and Oh My God.

He is set to play Liverpool Sound City, followed by summer appearances at Scottish festival T In The Park, V Festival and Wireless. For more information about the event visit
