Dozens of shops in Corby town centre were forced to close today (Sunday, February 3) because of a power failure.

The electricity went off at about 10am and is expected to be back on again by 6.30pm.

Shops in Corporation Street, Spencer Court and Willow Place were affected, as well as residents of the flats in Cardigan House.

Corby town centre manager Dan Pickard said: “I have been in talks with Western Power all day and it seems there has been a network fault. A total of 57 shops in the town centre were forced to close.”
