Post Office confirms plans to relocate Wellingborough branch

The Post Office has confirmed plans to close its current site and create a new branch in Wellingborough.

How the new Post Office branch will look

The company will relocate its current branch at 5, Midland Road into the nearby vacant unit at 9 - 10 Sheep Street where it will be run by a retail partner with its opening hours extended to include Saturday afternoons.

The new premises will be completely refurbished and the Post Office will be within a dedicated area with five serving positions.

It will be run on a franchise basis alongside a convenience store.

Post Office bosses have said the relocation is to ‘secure its services for customers for the long term.’

The current Post office will operate until 5.30pm on November 14 with the new branch opening at 9am the following day.
