A43 shut all weekend as Moulton bypass moves step nearer completion

Drivers are being advised to steer well clear of the A43 north of Northampton this weekend.

The road will be closed for 48 hours from 6am on Saturday (February 1) will work to build the Moulton bypass takes a major step nearer completion.

Engineers will shut the A43 carriageway between the Round Spinney and Moulton roundabouts until 6am on Monday (February 3).

When the road re-opens, traffic will be using a single lane of the new dual-carriageway bypass with a temporary 30 mph speed limit until the final works are finished this spring.

Northamptonshire County Council are spending £27million to remove traffic hotspots on the A43 between Sywell and Northampton.

The first stretch of dual carriageway north of the Moulton roundabout to a new junction at Overstone Grange was up and running in early 2018.
