Police warning over phone callers

RESIDENTS are being urged to be on their guard after reports of call centres offering PPI claims and loans, where the caller attempts to obtain cash with the promise of large sums of money in return.

The police say in recent incidents, the caller has stated that they are County Court of London approved and the respondent is being encouraged to purchase UK cash vouchers.

Officers are reminding residents to be extremely cautious when dealing with any unknown callers, and not to respond to anything which demands the handing over of cash before reclaiming funds.

Anyone who thinks they have been a victim should call Northamptonshire Police on the non-emergency telephone number 101.
