Police linking Braybrooke shooting to Corby incident

Police investigating a shooting at a travellers site in Braybrooke are linking it to an incident in Corby.

A 17-year-old boy was left with serious life-changing injuries after the incident at the Greenfields site on Sunday, July 10.

Following the execution of two warrants, three men, aged 24, 29 and 37, were arrested on Wednesday (August 10) in connection with the incident.

The men have been released on police bail pending further enquiries, but police are now connecting the shooting with an incident in Corby in the hours prior to the Braybrooke attack.

A police spokesman said: “Northamptonshire Police is continuing to appeal for information about the incident in Braybrooke and also another incident in Corby earlier the same evening, which they believe to be connected.

“The incident in Corby involved the occupants of a black VW Golf, a Silver VW Golf and a white BMW, in and around the car park of the Chequered Flag pub [in Causeway Road].

“The investigation is ongoing and witnesses or anyone with any information about either incident are asked to call police 101 or alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.”
