Police are helping to set up a youth club in a village which has experienced high levels of anti-social behaviour.
Volunteers are needed to help run the new youth club for Finedon, and a venue is currently being sought.
Officers are involved with getting the project set up due to issues related to youths causing anti-social behaviour in the village, but once it is launched it will be down to volunteers to run it.
PCSO Wes Owen said: “Because there have been historic problems in Finedon the police are involved with setting this up. It’s something that we are really keen to get off the ground.
“We’ve got a good number of volunteers that have already made contact. The next stage is to send out application forms.
“We are still looking for premises, but once we have got that and the volunteers sorted we are going to be working with the Northamptonshire Youth Club Association. Once we’ve got it up-and-running it will be up to the people of Finedon to run.
“When we talk to local youths they say they want a youth club. The club is going to be for all young people in Finedon, aged between 12 and 17.”
