Police describe death of man in Corby as suspicious

Police are treating the death of a Corby man in a hotel room in the town as suspicious, pending a forensic post mortem examination later today.

The body of a 39-year-old man was found at the Village Express Hotel in The Jamb at around 2.40pm yesterday (Monday). The man had an unexplained head injury.

The family of the dead man has been notified but formal indentification has not yet taken place.

The Jamb was closed for a time to allow investigations to take place, but has since reopened. Forensic examinations will continue at the hotel today.

Police are appealing for anybody with any information about this incident, or witnesses to any assaults in the Corby town centre and Old Village areas after 2am yesterday, to contact the Operation Lane Investigation Team on 101.
