Police are appealing for witnesses to an assault when four men assaulted a teenager at Wicksteed Park last month.

The attack happened on the May Day bank holiday in the afternoon of Monday, May 6 between 4.30pm and 4.45pm, but police have only just released details of the incident.

An 18-year-old man was assaulted by four men who pushed him to the floor and repeatedly punched and kicked him. It took place in one of the lower fields on the park, close to the train track near the boating lake.

The offenders were all white men, in their late teens to early twenties. One man is described as approximately 6ft, with brown hair and of average build. He was wearing black clothing.

A second man had ginger hair and was wearing a white top with a Hollister logo. A third man is described as having prominent ears. He was not wearing a top and had a gold chain around his neck.

Officers are appealing for information from anyone who visited to the park on the bank holiday and may have witnessed the incident or have information about the offenders.
