Police are appealing for witnesses to a break-in at a town’s football club.

A burglary took place at Desborough Town FC’s clubhouse in Braybrooke Road yesterday (Sunday, June 16). It occurred between midnight and 8.30am.

The offender or offenders broke into the building and stole a quantity of cash and caused considerable damage to the property, police have revealed.

A spokesman for the club added: “It’s very disappointing and obviously caused considerable disruption to us. There was collateral damage done as well.”

He also said it was the first break-in at the club since the clubhouse was rebuilt two years ago, following a fire which gutted the previous building.

Witnesses to this incident, or anyone with information, should call Northamptonshire Police on 101. Alternatively, information can be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
