Witnesses should contact police on 101.

The incident took place in Stamford Road on Wednesday (June 29) at about 4.40pm.

An 11-year-old boy was walking a short distance home from his school and as he walked on to Stamford Road from Judith Road, he noticed a small green car parked at the side of the road - near the Harlequin pub - which he described as being covered in bird droppings.

As he got closer to the car a woman he didn’t recognise got out and asked him if he’d like a lift home.

He said no and ran off, and the car drove quickly away in the direction of Kettering Town centre.

The woman is described as having blonde hair.

She was wearing a black coat pulled up over her head - possibly because it was raining - and baggy black trousers.

Witnesses, or anyone with information, are asked to call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
