Planning officers had recommended that the proposals for a new Asda store at Warth Park just off the A45 at Raunds were approved subject to a number of conditions.

The plans for a 24-hour foodstore with a petrol filling station, jet wash, customer car park, service yard and associated landscaping were discussed by East Northants Council’s planning management committee last night (Wednesday).

But members decided to defer the plans for further consideration.

They said they wanted to allow time for further discussion of the design, to discuss the roof and cladding, the feasibility of a bus-stop and layby and to discuss the number of parking spaces.

The plans are likely to go back for consideration by the committee at its next meeting.
