Tresham principal Stuart Wesselby said: “We are very excited about the new Wellingborough campus plans and our planning application marks the next step towards the building becoming a reality for the town.

“The new campus will be a fantastic state-of-the-art learning environment fit to face the skills challenges of the next century focused on science, technology, engineering and maths.

“We have been very pleased with the feedback at recent consultation events and other public meetings where people have stated how this will be the kick-start to regeneration for the town.”

The plans are for a three-storey building which will provide teaching, workshop, salon, dining and administrative areas.

It is also for associated landscape, infrastructure works and a 24-space car park.

The application, which would see the current building demolished, will now be considered by Wellingborough Council.
