Proposals for a new £150 million employment park which could create 2,500 jobs are set to go on show at a public exhibition.

Plans for Appleby Lodge, off Sywell Road, to the west of Wellingborough, are to go on display on Saturday, February 9, at Wellingborough Old Grammarians Memorial Sports Field, off Sywell Road.

The scheme is being put forward by Prologis, a global operator and developer of industrial real estate, which is already involved in a series of projects across Northamptonshire.

The plans include a series of commercial and logistics, or distribution, buildings in varying sizes, which could create at least 2,500 jobs over time.

James Wright, vice president market officer at Prologis, said: “Creating a new employment park for Wellingborough at Appleby Lodge would deliver the important new jobs that Wellingborough needs to accompany the planned housing expansion.

“Wellingborough is growing and we’re hoping to be part of the solution for making growth sustainable and successful.

“Our proposals for Appleby Lodge are exciting and bring the potential to attract more leading businesses into the town.

“The proposals are good news for jobs and good news for the economy.”

The exhibition runs from 11am until 4pm and it will be staffed by members of the Prologis development team who will be on hand to explain the proposals and answer questions.

More information on the proposals is also available by visiting, emailing or calling 020 73233544.

Consultation on the proposals is due to close on February 22, ahead of the application being finalised and submitted in early spring 2013.
