Cups will be filled and cakes sliced as hundreds of people take part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning for Macmillan tomorrow (Friday).

Everyone from individuals to sports clubs and companies is getting involved to raise money for the cancer charity.

Fire showroom, Framptons, in Telford Way, Kettering, is hosting an event complete with a pianist. Doug Frampton said: “We felt it was time to add some light relief to the awesome task of running a business at the current time and help someone else as well.”

The fundraiser runs from 10am to midday tomorrow.

Staff at Scott Bader, in Wollaston, are holding five events, starting tomorrow and ending on October 23, and hope to top last year’s total of £842.

There are also events at Beech Close care home in Desborough, from 10am to midday; Finedon Dolben cricket club, also from 10am to midday tomorrow, and the Addington Artisans are combining their event with an exhibition. The event is being held in Great Addington village hall tomorrow from 10am to 4pm and includes crafts, books and plants stalls as well as a raffle.

Coffee shops including javajava in Kettering and Heavenly Cuppa in Rushden will be making donations and the Lilacs pub in Isham is opening at 10am to serve coffee instead of pints.
