A PLAN to increase the involvement of borough councillors in safeguarding a town’s open spaces is to be discussed on Tuesday.
Members of the One Corby Policy Committee will be debating councillors’ input at pre-planning discussions on major developments which propose significant proposals affecting open spaces, playing fields, planted areas and woodland.
A report to the meeting says input by councillors would be beneficial to their strong interest in woodland management in the town.
It states: “The provision of new and improved green infrastructure is very important to Corby as it grows and regenerates. Recognition of that importance would be enhanced by formalising member input on such issues in pre-planning application discussions.”
