The people of Higham Ferrers turned out for the start of the town’s countdown to Christmas.
People of all ages enjoyed the festivities laid on for the annual Sparkle event held in Higham Ferrers on November 21.
There were events throughout the day before the switching on of the Christmas lights.
Attractions included a Christmas craft cafe, stalls selling Christmas gifts, a skating rink on the Market Square, a continental market and fairground rounds, as well as food, drink and street entertainment.
There was also carol singing in St Mary’s Church and the nativity was performed by pupils from the town’s three schools.
The annual event is organised by Higham Ferrers Town Council.
