Kettering’s 56th Gang Show takes place later this month.
About 90 Brownies, Cubs, Scouts, Explorer Scouts, Guides and Leaders have been rehearsing since June, with final preparations now being made before the shows next week.
A spokesman for Glendon District (Kettering & Corby) Scout Council, which organises the shows every year, said: “Auditions took place in May, with singing rehearsals taking place since June.
“After a break for the summer holidays the cast came back together in September and have been rehearsing twice a week ever since.
“The Gang Show provides youngsters in the Scouting and Guiding movement with an opportunity to showcase their creative talents.
“The performers, whose ages range from seven to 27 years, are eagerly waiting to entertain the Kettering public, with a topical mixture of songs, sketches, dance and comedy items, both old and new.
“The show, which follows the traditional Gang Show variety format, first established by Ralf Reader, in London, during 1932, is billed as The Ultimate in Family Entertainment.
“It is widely accredited as being one of the best Gang Shows in the country, with visitors attending from far and wide – there really is something for everyone in the show this year!”
Nightly performances will be held at the Lighthouse Theatre, Thurston Drive, Kettering, at 7.15pm from Wednesday, November 25, to Saturday, November 28, with a matinee performance on the Saturday at 2.15pm.
Tickets from the theatre box office are £9.50 for adults and £8 for concessions (under-14s and senior citizens), on 01536 414141 or online at www.lighthousetheatre.co.uk.
