Christmas shoppers can pick up festive gifts at the same time as supporting children with rare cancers at an event in Wellingborough on Saturday, December 1.

Items from local businesses, the Body Shop and Fair Trade will be available at the Tithe Barn from 10.30am until 3pm. Hand-made jewellery, cupcakes, nappy and pamper cakes and sweets will be among the items on offer.

Raffle prizes, including a spa day for two, a £50 voucher and a hamper, will also be up for grabs and there will be a tombola.

The event has been organised by Chelsea’s Angels, the Irthlingborough-based charity which supports children with rare forms of cancer.

Michelle Tomkins, from Chelsea’s Angels, said: “We want to raise as much as possible, which will hopefully help us to beat last year’s total of £23,849. We’ve helped 65 children and families this year so the support for our events is really needed by these children and families. We raised just over £500 at this event last year, which would fund support for two children.”
